Andy just asked for permission to go birding. This is not an issue of power/control, but one of pragmatics. We only have one car and there is still much work to be done on the apartment. I told him that as long as we got the rest of the boxes under control and washed the floors and windows, he can do whatever he wants. I have no need for the car since the only thing I want to do this weekend is walk to the Saturday farmer's market and look at compost bins. I thought about going to go to yoga, but I don't think I will get on that goal until we return from Atlanta.
Then there is the issue of pancakes. Andy and I have a cheat day on Saturday, where we are allowed to eat whatever we want and I was going to make pancakes for breakfast. I love making pancakes but haven't for a long time. Now we have a nice griddle, blueberry syrup from Maine, and a better kitchen space. Andy's previous kitchen consistently failed to inspire meals of any kind (although I did manage a thanksgiving dinner, but the spatial planning took all, and I mean ALL, of the fun out of it).
So, we're making pancakes. And he's going birding. And I will look at compost bins.
We be nerds.
